४ ऋततत्त्वे त्रिचतुरर्थच्छायाविच्छित्तयः सन्तीव भान्ति— जगति विद्यमानः कश्चन क्रमो काचन व्यवस्था वा। अवश्यम्भावी कर्म-फलसम्बन्धः, ऋणि-ऋणसम्बन्धश्च। यतो हि कारणे सति कार्यं भवितव्यमेव; यथा मूले सत्यङ्कुरास्तित्वम्। सति कर्मशेषे शुभाशुभप्राप्तिसम्भावनेव च। स्वभावविकासः—सर्वेषु जीविषु सर्वेष्वपि च भूतेषु कश्चन गुणसञ्चयो गर्भीकृतः। स एव तस्य नैजो धर्मः। अनादिरसौ नैजधर्मस्तु जीवस्य जन्मान्तरसरण्यां प्राप्तपरिणाम-विपरिणामो जागर्ति। अस्य वृद्धिः पादपस्येव नैसर्गिकी।
